At the underpass of Sarokhanpur, a compressed and horrific accident occurred that shattered a Tata Sumo carrying five passengers. The involved vehicles in the accident were a bus and a very large trailer. Three people died, while 27 suffered injuries on the bus. The injured have all been referred to the district hospital from community health centers (CHC) across the country.
It is said that all the people on the bus came from Delhi, going to two sacred places, Ayodhya and Varanasi, making the pilgrimage through Chitrakoot and Prayagraj. All the ones occupying the Sumo hails from Jharkhand. They were headed to Ayodhya from Varanasi.
Shouts and screams could be heard after the crash
The unfortunate incident occurred when the devotees traveling on the bus were asleep. Suddenly, the bus collided with the trailer and a loud sound shook the pilgrims. Many were injured due to the sudden shock of sleeping. The front-seated pilgrims suffered more injuries than the others. Most pilgrims in the Sumo were asleep as well. Everyone was rushed to the hospital after the incident. Therefore, there is panic among the family members of the deceased.
