US President Donald Trump has immediately cut off Secret Service protection to the adult children of former Democrat president Joe Biden, according to the former president. Trump mentioned this on Monday. Just before leaving office in January, the former president extended it for his children till July.
The Republican president took to social media to express his objection that 18 agents were sent to South Africa to protect Hunter Biden. He pointed out that Ashley Biden is also protected by 13 agents and she, too, will be taken off the list of protected persons.
Former U.S. presidents are entitled to a lifetime protection of the Secret Service. This rule also applies to the spouses. However, the immediate family members over the age of 16 will not receive this security anymore. However, both Trump and Biden extended security for their kids by six months before leaving office.
