Lalu Yadav’s son and a leader of the RJD, Tej Pratap, today got major relief in the land-for-job scam case in the Delhi Rouse Avenue court. Tej Pratap Yadav appeared before the court for hearing purposes and has now secured bail, along with Hema Yadav and other accused persons who were granted bail too. The accused persons were given relief by the court on a surety of Rs 50,000 and also a security bond of the same amount.
The court had summoned last month
Earlier last month, the court summoned former Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad in the land-for-job scam case. Special Judge Vishal Gogane also summoned Lalu Prasad’s son and former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav and daughter Hema Yadav. The judge also issued fresh summons to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo’s younger son and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. The accused were directed to appear in court on March 11. The CBI chargesheeted 78 persons in this corruption case.
What happened in this land for job scam?
This case connects with Group ‘D’ appointments at Jabalpur in the West Central Division of the Indian Railways. According to the sources, during the period of 2004-2009, appointments against land gift or transfer in the name of the RJD supremo’s family or associates are concerned with Prasad’s term as Union Railway Minister. A case was lodged against Lalu Prasad, his wife, his two daughters, some unknown government officials and others, on May 18, 2022.
