At least ten people have died as uncontrollable wildfires continue to ravage Los Angeles, leaving destruction in their wake and forcing families out of their homes. Meanwhile, another new fire, the Sunset fire, is currently ripping through the Hollywood Hills, whose symbol is none other than the Hollywood sign.

The Los Angeles Fire Department adds that the Sunset fire has increased its size to 20 acres, burning between Runyon Canyon and Wattles Park. The Dolby Theatre, the site of the annual Oscar Awards ceremony, is also being targeted by the Sunset Fire in California, threatening Los Angeles’s most famous landmarks alongside the ever-popular Hollywood Bowl outdoor amphitheatre and the long, star-studded stretch over 69 mammoth blocks of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Most of the parts of the famous roads in L.A. are in evacuation zone. On Wednesday night, evacuation orders were enforced along section of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Mulholland Drive stretching down to Hollywood Boulevard famous for having celebrity homes for purposes of safety in response to the fire that broke out.

So far, the number of evacuated people has swollen to over 137,000. Among them are around 17 million Southern Californian residents who live under several smoke and dust advisories. These advisories are forecasted to remain effective until Thursday.

At least six major fires are raging in L.A. and its adjacent Ventura County. The Woodley fire has decreased in size, according to officials; the rest were at 0 percent containment. According to reports, the Palisades that broke out first Tuesday is the most damaging in the history of Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, President-Elect Donald Trump ripped into President Joe Biden and California Governor Gavin Newsom for failing to make much dent into containing the wildfires that have wreaked havoc so far. Moreover, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has also faced criticism amid allegations that she axed more than $17 million from the budget of the fire department last year.
