Why did Manish Sisodia Back Out From Patparganj Seat?

Manish Sisodia has won the Patparganj seat for the last three times i.e. in 2013,2015 & 2020. But in 2020, he was barely able to succeed, by only a margin of 3k-4k votes. AAP is also worried about beating anti-incumbency in Delhi. He has faced this challenge in previous elections for the Patparganj seat. Due to corruption charges also, he has been in jail for quite some time. Also, he was deputy CM of Delhi, so he was not able to coordinate well with the people of Patparganj, in the past. According to a survey conducted by AAP in Parparganj, it is not safe for Manish Sisodia to contest elections from Patparganj.

AAP Does Not Want to Take a Risk

Manish Sisodia is a prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and that’s why this time they are very careful with this election. This election will play a major role in deciding the future of AAP in Delhi. Jangpura is considered a safe seat for AAP, that’s why Manish Sisodia is considered a suitable candidate for this seat.

Why Jangpura is Considered a Safe Seat for AAP?

The election results of 2015 and 2020 were in favor of AAP in Jangpura. Pravin Kumar, AAP candidate for Jangpura won with a significant margin in the last two elections. So, because of the last two election stats, AAP is sure about the Jangpura seat. Pravin Kumar is contesting in elections from Janakpuri in the upcoming election.

Why was Avadh Ojha given a Chance from Patparganj’s Seat?

It is understood that Manish Sisodia is not contesting in elections from Patparganj but why a new entrant to the party, Avadh Ojha is chosen for this seat’s candidature?

This a question that you might be asking yourselves. The reason behind this is, that voters from UP and Purvanchal occupy a majority at the Patparganj seat. Avadh Ojha is a resident of Purvanchal. He is a well-known teacher in India and has a good amount of followers. That’s why his candidature from Patparganj’s seat is quite a good decision from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
