A truck collided with a traveler in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh. At least seven people have perished in this horrific road accident, while other people are trapped in the traveler, which became totally smashed after the crash. They sustained serious injuries as attempts are underway to save them.
Information in this case indicates that around 9 a.m., on the Nagpur-Prayagraj National Highway, about 50 kilometers from Jabalpur, a truck loaded with cement was coming from Jabalpur towards Katni while a traveler full of people collided with it. On learning about the accident, the Collector, Deepak Saxena, SP Sampat Upadhyay, and the police team rushed to the spot. Villagers and police personnel started rescuing effort for the trapped people in the traveler. Those travelling in the traveler are believed to be from Andhra Pradesh. They were there for taking a dip in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh and were returning after finishing their dip.
Two managed to escape, while one is still trapped in the traveler
According to police, two people trapped inside the Traveler have been rescued and admitted to the hospital. One more person is still trapped inside the Traveler. The collector said that the family of the deceased and the injured has been informed of the accident through a phone call. The seriously injured who arrived at Holkar Hospital is alive, but some of them are in critical condition. The rest who died have been moved to the hospital for the postmortem, after informing their family members.
As stated, post-collision between the truck and the traveler; a car coming from the opposite side collided with both vehicles. Luckily, the airbags of the car opened, which saved many lives.
