Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appointed a total of ten personalities – generally self-same Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, and many more big personalities from different fields – as ambassadors for the fight against obesity. It is to create awareness about both the importance of reducing edible oil in food and the side effects of obesity.
PM Modi’s call to the nominated people
PM Modi made the aforementioned statement on the social platform X, ‘As was said in yesterday’s Mann Ki Baat, I would like to nominate the following people to make the effort more battalioned effort against obesity and also toward increasing awareness against the consumption of edible oil used in our food.’ Also, I request that they nominate all 10 so that our movement becomes bigger!

In the said list are included Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, Bhojpuri actor and former BJP MP Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ from Azamgarh, athlete Manu Bhaker, athlete Mirabai Chanu, veteran Malayalam film star Mohanlal, co-founder of Infosys Nandan Nilekani, Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah, Hindi and Tamil film actor R. Madhavan, famous playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, and Infosys founder and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy.
