US intervention would be seen as a major turning point after the argument in the Oval Office of the White House between Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the President of the United States Donald Trump, the last week. The US military aid to Ukraine has been discontinued.
According to media sources, A White House source said that the US would cease all aid to Ukraine for the time being pending review. The hold will remain in effect until Trump determines that the leaders of Ukraine have made good-faith commitments to peace. This is not a permanent cessation of aid. This is a pause. Therefore, this means an immediate freeze on activity with U.S. military supplies not already in Ukraine. Trump ordered his Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, to pause the aid.
Word is that Trump wants Ukraine to stop the ongoing war with Russia. He wants Zelensky’s support for him. Zelensky, on the other hand, wants security guarantees to stop the war. Trump, in return, criticized Zelensky’s statement, claiming that it is not time to agree on an end to the war with Russia, labeling it the worst statement of a Ukrainian leader. He stated America wouldn’t tolerate that statement of Zelensky for much longer.
Last week’s debate between TRUMP and ZELENSKY
The whole world saw the heated debate between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office last week. In this meeting, President Trump severely reprimanded Zelensky. When Zelensky entered the Oval Office for negotiations, Trump started with a joke about Zelensky’s clothing and said, ‘you have come fully prepared’. The atmospherics have already worked out and at this time, Zelensky kept on smiling.
The meeting was marked by rising tensions when Zelensky warned Russian aggression as a long-term threat to the United States as well. The warning by Zelensky added, ‘You have a good sea, and you do not feel threatened right now, but you will feel it soon’. This was enough for Trump to launch a scathing verbal assault against Zelensky, and then the meeting was finished abruptly.
