In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, the importance and role of Maha Kumbh in connecting youth living reel life with Sanatan tradition deserve mention. Of the more than 66.30 crore devotees who attended the Maha Kumbh during these 45 days, nearly half were aged 25 or less. There was a 300-fold increase in social media inquiries on topics related to Sanatan Dharma, Vedas-Puranas, and Gita. This clearly shows that the youngsters are getting attracted to Sanatan culture and spirituality.
On the other hand, the impact of the great event of Maha Kumbh has been utterly deep. All Kumbhs held after the independence of the nation have been the meeting grounds of religious middle-aged and elderly devotees. The saying ‘Kumbh Naha Liye’ meant that the Kumbh bath was allowed only to those who had fulfilled their worldly responsibilities.
Maha Kumbh 2025 was, in this regard, entirely different. The youth hailed Yogi Adityanath’s Digital Maha Kumbh. Kumbh Sahayak App based on AI and Google Navigation was able to connect with the youth. The youth made records while blending technology and culture into the holy dip.
The Kumbh also proved that the youth are moving forward on their own terms in the delicate balancing act between traditional religion and modern nationalism. That youth set off millions of doctors, engineers, chartered accountants, managers, teachers, professors, scientists, journalists, sportspersons, actors, manufacturers, traders, service sector entrepreneurs, and college students.
Reel- culture youth was seen proudly sharing photos and videos of Mahakumbh
33 crore young people shared photographs and videos on social media. At Maha Kumbh, they were able to see that it is a reality and not just something on paper when it comes to this digital revolution.
Sacred water of Sangam were taken across the entire Earth
Crowds of youth saints gathered for Ram Katha, Bhagwat Katha and discourses in Maha Kumbh. Crores of youth participated in Satsang and Kirtan, showing that today’s modern generation is returning to the roots more and more. These youths took with them the soil and water of Sangam across the world while returning from Maha Kumbh.
