Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Gujarat from Saturday through Monday. He will chair the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) meeting at Sasan in Junagadh district and also visit the animal rescue center, Vantara, operated by the Reliance Foundation in Jamnagar. The Prime Minister will also hold a meeting of the Shri Somnath Trust.
Gujarat Principal Chief Forest Conservator passed information that Vantara, the animal care center in Jamnagar, is part of PM Modi’s program on Sunday. On the next day, there will be a jungle safari. While at Sasan, the headquarters of Gir National Park, Prime Minister Modi will also chair a meeting of the Shri Somnath Trust, which oversees the world-famous Somnath temple, A. P. Singh, Gujarat Principal Chief Forest Conservator and Chief Forest Force, stated.

The Prime Minister will come on the evening of 1 March to Jamnagar and spend the night at the Circuit House. On the next day, the schedule includes a visit to the Vantara Animal Care Centre in Jamnagar; then, he will fly off from Jamnagar and arrive in Sasan that evening. After reaching the Forest Department’s office cum guest house ‘Singh Sadan’ in Sasan, the Prime Minister will chair the meeting of the Shree Somnath Trust.
PM Modi will also enjoy jungle safari
He said that the Prime Minister will spend the morning of March 3rd with a jungle safari at the Gir National Park in Gujarat for the unique experience of seeing the habitat of Asiatic lions. He said that later, returning to the Singh Sadan, the Prime Minister would chair a meeting of the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL). Such meetings generally discuss and approve national-level wildlife issues. This time, however, it will be very special as it will be chaired by the Prime Minister himself.
Will also perform puja at Somnath temple
He said that after the meeting, the Prime Minister would interact with some women forest employees in Sasan. He said that later the Prime Minister would perform puja at Somnath temple in Gir Somnath district. He told that from Somnath, he would reach Rajkot airport and proceed to Delhi.
Let us tell you that there are 47 members in the NBWL, which includes the Army Chief, members from various states, representatives of NGOs working in this field, Chief Wildlife Wardens, and Secretaries of various states. The Prime Minister of the country is the ex-officio Chairman of NBWL.
