Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given a rousing welcome on reaching the US capital Washington DC. Upon his arrival in Washington DC, the people of the Indian community welcomed him warmly and cheered slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Modi Modi’, giving up the rain and chill. PM Modi will also meet US President Donald Trump. This will be his first bilateral meeting after Trump assumed office for the second time.

Prior to meeting US President Donald Trump, PM Modi will meet several important people. He has already met Tulsi Gabbard, Director of the US Intelligence Agency (DNI). PM Modi can hold talks with famous industrialist Elon Musk and many other business leaders at the White House.

- Investment and technology – The issues of increasing the technology dimensions of trade between India and America may be discussed.
- Defence and energy- This would also be broad enough to discuss bilateral defence cooperation and energy agreements.

- Global issues- Indo-pacific, Ukraine, and West Asia might be discussed.
