US President Donald Trump has made some earnest remarks about America’s occupation of Gaza, saying that America wants to rebuild Gaza. Trump discussed the occupation of Gaza and the responsibility thereafter for the destruction of the dangerous bombs and all weapons in Gaza at a bipartisan press conference at the White House with Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel. America will take care of rebuilding the buildings destroyed or left standing and will work toward developing Gaza economically so that the people of Gaza will have jobs and houses.
Trump in favour of sending the army to Gaza
If this means sending the U.S. armed forces to rebuild Gaza, Mr. Trump says he will consider it. Trump remarked that we would do this if necessary. Netanyahu added that he would be glad to stand with Trump on such a proposal. “We want Gaza never to be a threat to Israel in the future, but President Trump is taking it to a new height,” Netanyahu said. “And so, the idea is different; it can change the future of Gaza.” Netanyahu said, “We ought to listen to this one; if this happens, it can change history.”
No return to Gaza for displaced Palestinians
The United States President made another important point on the issue of permanently settling displaced Palestinians from Gaza outside war-torn Gaza. Trump has said, ‘I don’t think people should go back to Gaza. You cannot live in Gaza right now. We need to find another place and it should be a place where people can live happily.’ The American President stated, ‘Looking through the last decade, only people have lost their lives in Gaza, things have been going on for years. If we can resettle people in a good place, and give them good houses, then people would also be happy, and then no one would be killed.
